Snow Day!!
It is snowing while I type this, and school is canceled (so my afternoon tutoring gig is canceled, too). I love looking at snow falling. I hate driving/walking in it. But there’s dry wood for the wood stove, so I’m good. This isn’t a bad Nor’easter, as Nor’easters go. The ice storm a few years back, when we lost power for a week, is the gold standard for a bad Nor’easter to us. And even though, by the time you read this, the pristine snow will be muddied by road salt and sand and boot tracks, I will still be glad it snowed.
I like a little snow this time of year. It reflects the light of the darkening days. Most especially it looks beautiful. Especially with seasonal holiday lights. I took these pictures especially to share here. They’re all houses in a single neighborhood — we can see the lights shining from across the river (where we don’t celebrate the end of the year in such style).
Enjoy!
